PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is the Standard Abrasives™ A/O R8 Straight Precision Cartridge Roll 726011 recommended for?
The Standard Abrasives™ A/O R8 Straight Precision Cartridge Roll 726011 is ideal for deburring, flash removal and edge chamfering of small machined parts.
-
Can you tell me about the dimensions and quantity?
Of course! The 1/2 in x 1-3/4 in x 1/4 in size makes it easy to maneuver through tight spaces on your workpiece. Each cartridge roll has a grit of 120. They are sold at a quantity of 25 per inner package, with a total of 250 per case.
-
What material can this product be used on?
This cartridge roll is designed for use on all ferrous metals, hardwoods, leather and softwoods.
The Standard Abrasives™ Aluminum Oxide Precision Cartridge Roll Model R (formerly Kay Rolls) is a multi-layered roll that has self-trimming capability during use. This exposes new abrasive cutting points throughout the life of the roll. The roll has a secure bond to the drive stem, which eliminates loosening and vibration. This makes the Precision Cartridge Roll especially beneficial when high tolerance and precision grinding are required.
The Precision Cartridge Roll is great for polishing, edge breaking, and removal of machine tool marks or flash. Its small size and shape enable it to blend, deburr, and polish inside holes and diameters or on irregular surfaces and contours. The mounted stem attaches to a high-speed rotary tool such as a die grinder or drill for smooth, controlled high-speed grinding.
Running a Cartridge Roll on a High-Speed ToolThe Model R cartridge roll has a rear-mounted 1/4˝ stem making the entire roll usable for increased productivity and reduced downtime. This stem attaches to a rotary tool such as a die grinder or drill for smooth, controlled high-speed grinding, and negates the need for a separate mandrel attachment.
Aluminum Oxide Cartridges Offer a Broad Range of OptionsStandard Abrasives™ offers Aluminum Oxide Precision Cartridge Rolls in a wide variety of sizes and grades to suit particular contours and different applications. For Model R, grades range from 40-320, producing a spectrum of finishes from coarse to fine. Aluminum oxide mineral cuts sharp and is friable – fragmenting under heat and pressure to reveal sharp cutting edges as it abrades the surface.
Benefits of a Multi-Layer DesignThe multi-layer, multi-wear design of a Standard Abrasives™ Cartridge Roll keeps it cutting sharp and helps it withstand repeated wear. As top layers wear down with use, underlying layers expose fresh mineral, so you get a continuous and consistent cut, part after part. Wrapping multiple layers of the abrasive material around into a roll contributes to its sturdiness and durability.
A resin bond securely anchors mineral to the cloth backing – also enhancing the abrasive's toughness and strength. The closed-coat construction means mineral grains cover 100 percent of the cloth backing, so that a smoother, more consistent finish is achieved.
Quality Standard Abrasives™ Solutions for Industrial ApplicationsThe Standard Abrasives brand has supplied quality abrasives to the metalworking industry for over 50 years. Customers rely on their broad offering of high-performance products including coated, bonded, and non-woven abrasive lines.
